Shorty's Display

How Shorty's Display Started...

Who is Shorty? Shorty is my grandmother, Betty McClellion, I gave her the nickname Shorty because she was so short. Her and my grandfather, Melvin McClellion Sr. started their display in the 1970s and grew it each year. Ever since I was old enough, I started helping with the display each year. When Shorty passed away in 2015 we continued putting up the display in memory of her at their house on Hwy 14 in Simpsonville. In 2019, with the help of our neighbors Jerry and Ashlee Williams allowing us to use their yard, we decided to move the display so that we could continue the tradition in memory of Shorty. Many of the blow molds in the display have been around for over 20 years and each year we add something new to the display just like Shorty would.
